Why did you choose your current post and why at Queen’s?
Initially when I applied to Queen’s it was an opportunity to contribute to research and utilise and develop the skills and knowledge I had acquired in a previous project at another University. My current post was an opportunity to continue working at Queen’s.
How have you been supported at Queen’s?
I have attended training courses which have been a valuable support. The Postdoc forum is an excellent source of support.
In what ways have you developed at Queen’s?
My insight and understanding of the research process have been developed in each of the projects I have worked on. This has been through working with those on my team and sharing of experiences.
Can you describe the postdoctoral community in the School and at Queen’s?
Very supportive especially when we were all on Level 7 together.
Where do you hope your current post will lead?
As a contract researcher I am hoping another project will become available to enable me to continue working at Queen’s.
Anything else you would like to add or advice to new Postdocs?
I am enjoying the work I am doing and am so appreciative of the support and guidance from my team members. My advice to new Postdocs – be curious and do not hesitate to ask questions.
